Young Women Forum: Sexual Violence

The forum is a space for young women people to engage with and inform CWSW’s sexual violence advocacy work.

About the event

Centre for Women’s Safety and Wellbeing (CWSW) is the peak body for domestic and family violence services, sexual assault support services, and community-based women’s health services. This forum will be an opportunity for young women in the community to hear about what is currently happening within the state and provide input into our advocacy work related to sexual violence.

The first half of the event will be an information session on research related to the prevalence and perpetration of sexual violence in Australia, and current strategies and reviews related to sexual violence prevention and response in WA.

This will be followed by an interactive forum in which participants will have the choice to engage in sharing their views on systemic issues related to sexual violence prevention and response, and reforms to address these issues.

All participants must be able to attend in-person

Who should attend?

The forum is open to all young women in the community aged 18-26 years old who are interested in informing CWSW sexual violence advocacy work. This is not a lived experience group, however some people within the group might have a lived experience of sexual violence. No prior knowledge is required.
