Firearms Act 2024 reform

CWSW was invited to provide evidence to the Committee Inquiry on the Firearms Act 2024 earlier this month. We strongly support the WA Government in the complete implementation of the Act and encouraged the Committee members to fully support this significant public safety measure. The importance of reforms being fully implemented, particularly in relation to users of family and domestic violence and removal of access to firearms by those who use violence cannot be overestimated. This Act will keep firearms out of the hands of those who use violence and increase victim-survivor safety.
